There are many families of Azarovs - noble and simple - on our planet. Basically the Azarovs live in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and the USA.

The surneme- Azarov-has its roots in the 17th century. First a written mention was found in the RSAAA
(Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts) (Landrat books and revision Tales, Fund 350 Inventory 2 File 1618). The surname was originally written as Ozarov. The ancestor of the Azarov family is Elizar (Azar, Ozar), who in in the middle of the 17th century lived in the village of Dmitrievskoye (since 1785 the city Dmitriev-on-Svapa, Lgovsky district) in the family of Grigory Fedorovich Zaitsev. The scribal book of the Rylsky district of 1646 contains the composition of the family (RSAAA), F.1209 Op.1 d. 10556).

The basis of the surname Azarov was the name Azar. Hebrew male name Azariah means "God helped."
Azar (Ozar) moved with his family from his father, and all descendants began to wear surname in honor of him - Ozarov. In the case of 1678 (RSAAA), Fund 1209, Op. 1, d. 10558), the composition Azar family. Ozar had 7 children - Fedor, Sila, Alexei, Yakov, Vasily, Ivan and adopted son Nikifor.

It has not been possible to establish from where exactly Azarovs came to the village Dmitrievskoe according to the Archives. Based on DNA analysis, it can be concluded that it was Europe. The Azarovs lived in the village of Dmitrievsky until the middle of the 19th century. In 1851 ancestor of Evgeny Azarov Stepan Mikhailovich Azarov with his family moved to Novo-Travninskaya village, Ishim district, Tobolsk province, where received a large piece of land. After World War I and the October Revolution, the Azarovs migrated to different cities of Russia, neighboring countries, as well as to the USA and Canada.

In the azure shield there is a golden rafter, burdened with three emerald pomegranate fruits with stems and leaves and accompanied on the right and left by two golden six-pointed polished stars. In the lower part there is a golden oak with the same acorns, standing with its roots on a twisted silver scroll emerging from the foot of the shield. The shield is crowned with a steel knight's helmet.

On a two-colored storm-tank (silver and azure) there is a silver owl reinforced with scarlet with outstretched and raised wings, sitting on a golden wheel with eight spokes. The insignia is azure lined with silver.

On the right - an angel in a monastic cassock girded with a white belt-rope with three knots, holding a scroll with the image of a map, on the left - an ancient Russian warrior (vened) with a lowered sword in his hand
